The Study’s views on:

 

Leadership:

We know no human is sinless. Therefore, our leaders will mess up.

We expect our leaders not to promote or actively participate in a continuous sinful lifestyle or activity.

 

Homosexuality:

All are welcome regardless of their sexuality.

A sin is a sin.

Any intimate sexual activity outside of marriage is a sin.  Regardless of the sexual orientation of the individual.

1 Corinthian 6:9-10 list many sins and treats them as equal.  So The Study will treat them as equal also.

Our job is to introduce and teach people about Jesus.

It is the Holy Spirit job to change people.

We understand and acknowledge that the Holy Spirit works on each individual based on God’s perspective, not humans.

We accept that just because people are not changing in the way we think they should, doesn’t mean they are not changing in unseen ways.

The Study is here to help support each individual move closer to Jesus.

 

Marriage:

God’s definition of marriage and the United States of America’s are different.

God’s Biblical view of a spiritual marriage is between a man and woman.

Genesis 1:27-28

Matthew 19:6

The United States of America legal view is that an individual sex does not make a difference in the marriage of two people.

Since The Study is a Biblically based church, we will only perform a spiritual marriage between a man and woman.

The Study acknowledge the legal view; we choose only to recognize a biblical spiritual marriage for church leadership.
